Sklar Blue™ Sims Vaginal Retractor is a handheld retractor used primarily for vaginal retraction and exposure in electrosurgical procedures

Sklar Blue™ electrosurgical instruments feature an insulated coating that prevents radio frequency currents from being transmitted through the instrument which reduces the burning of non-targeted tissue. This retractor is available as a single or double-ended instrument with the blades always curved at right angles. This product has a single blade and a Sklar Grip handle that features ridges for comfortable finger placement and added control. There is also a slight curve at the base of the handle for finger placement. The blade is inserted into the vagina to retract the anterior wall so that the posterior wall can be viewed. The blade is trough shaped, which serves to catch and drain blood or fluid that may exit the surgical site. Sklar Blue™ instruments are fully autoclavable and may also be cleaned ultrasonically. All Sklar Blue™ coated instruments comply with biological testing requirements for cytotoxicity, sensitization regulatory, and ISO 10993 requirements. They also comply with the Pre-Vacuum and Gravity Cycle Steam Sterilization Validation of ANSI/AAMI ST79. Sklar Blue™ electrosurgical coatings are guaranteed for one year against manufacturing defects.
